Why Televising the Trump Trial Is a Bad Idea

From a New York Times guest essay by Nick Akerman headlined “Why Televising the Trump Trial Is a Bad Idea”:

As the indictments against former President Donald Trump multiply, TV and print media commentators as well as members of Congress have called for cameras in the courtroom. They claim that broadcasting the trials will increase the public’s understanding of the charges and the evidence against Mr. Trump and that it is the only way there can be full transparency. Even Mr. Trump’s lawyer John Lauro says he wants the American public to see “what kind of prosecution is going on.”
