As former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis air their disinterest in more U.S. aid to Ukraine, a number of Senate Republicans are open about wanting a GOP standard-bearer who takes a different approach.

“I want a Ronald Reagan when it comes to national security. Peace through strength,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said. He prefers a candidate who won’t “kowtow to the isolationist wing of the Republican Party.”
