From an AP story headlined “Kentucky paper to be sold, ending family’s 140-year history”:

The Gaines family has agreed to sell the Daily News of Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Carpenter Newsmedia LLC, an affiliate of Boone Newspapers Inc.  The deal is expected to close June 30 and also includes a weekly shopper and three magazines.

The family’s history with the newspaper dates back 140 years, according to Cribb, Cope & Potts, a merger and acquisition firm representing the family. The newspaper said it is one of the oldest family-owned papers in the southeastern U.S.
