Kids Wrote Pleas to Help Unwanted Shelter Dogs Find Homes—It worked.

From a Washington Post story by Sydney Page headlined “Kids wrote pleas to help unwanted shelter pups find homes. It worked.”:

Cody and Marie Lucas had visited several animal shelters in Virginia in search of the right rescue dog to adopt. When they got to Richmond Animal Care and Control last month, something caught their eye.

There were two colorful notes, accompanied by sketches, attached to the kennel of a 5-year-old American Staffordshire terrier named Duquesa.

“I am cute and short haired. I can cuddle and bark,” one letter read in a child’s handwriting. “Please adopt me.”
