Actors and Writers Fill Los Angeles Streets in Show of Unity Amid Strike

From a Washington Post story by Erica Werner headlined “Actors, writers fill Los Angeles streets in show of unity amid strike”:

Thousands of striking actors and writers flooded the streets of Hollywood on Wednesday in a massive show of unity aimed at pressuring studios to give in and end the long-running work stoppage.

Members of the Writers Guild of America have been on strike for 135 days and the Screen Actors Guild for 62 days. Talks between the WGA and the group representing major studios and streaming services have broken down, with each side claiming the ball is in the other’s court. The studios are trying to ink a new three-year contract with the writers before negotiating with the actors.
