The top 10 presidents have been ranked that way pretty consistently from surveys in 2021, 2017, 2009, and 2000. The best:
Abraham Lincoln at number one, followed by George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Harry S. Truman, Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Barack Obama (ranked only in 2021 and 2017).
In the 2021 survey, Bill Clinton was 19th, George H.W. Bush 21st, Jimmy Carter 26th, Gerald Ford 28th, and George W. Bush 29th.
The worst of the 44 presidents was James Buchanan. Donald J.. Trump, ranked only in 2021, came in at 41st.
