I understand why “The Economist” has rid itself of Autodefect, but for those of us with more miles than tread left on the tires, it serves a useful purpose. As the mind goes and strange words with meanings other than what I intended to type appear in my copy, I’m able to blame that technological gremlin maker instead of my own deficiencies. And that’s a real puss.
